"Victoria Park" is a series of portraits documenting the diverse human landscape of one of East London’s most iconic green spaces. The project explores the intersection of identity and public space, capturing the spontaneous beauty and individual stories that define the East End. As a newcomer to London, I utilised photography as a tool for connection—a way to navigate and establish a sense of place. These hand-printed portraits reflect the generosity of strangers and the quiet moments of dignity that define this community. By examining the mutual perception between photographer and subject, the series captures both my fascination with these individuals and their response to my lens. It is a tribute to the community’s openness and a personal reflection on finding one’s place within the tapestry of British life through the medium of analogue photography.
